Well, it’s usually an unusual game at Arkansas, and it sure was. The Tennessee Volunteers took on the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday, Oct. 5th in Arkansas. Both teams started slowly on offense, Arkansas scoring three points in the first half and Tennessee was shut out in the first half for the first time since 2019.

 

Arkansas dominated the first half,  on time of possession 20:33 to 9:27.  Arkansas total offense 223 total yards to 76 yards for TN. At that point Arkansas had a 3-0 lead at Half Time.

 

TN took the second half kick off and scored on a 7 play 75 yard drive, Dillon Sampson scored on a 4 yard run with 12:33 to go in the third quarter, extra point Good by  Gilbert . Tennessee leads 7 -3

 

Tennessee’s Sampson scored again on a 4 yard run, set up by a 7 play 60 yard drive, extra point Good by Gilbert.  TN Sampson Scores again on a 4 yard run with 8:19 to go in the 3rd Q. Kick by Gilbert was good. TN 14 AR 3

 

Arkansas had 8 play 75 yard drive that put Johnson in for the score for the Razorbacks. Kick by Shipley Good. TN – 14 AR 10 with 4:48 to go in the 3rd Q.

 

Arkansas scored again on a 23 yard field goal with 12:11 to go in the 4th Q by Shipley.

TN clings to a 14 – 13 lead over AR. Singleton for Arkansas Razorbacks scores on a quarterback keeper with 1:17 to go in the 4th quarter, 2 point conversion was No good.

 

Final score Arkansas 19 Tennessee 14

 

Tennessee has lost 4 in a row to the Razorbacks. It was a day of top 10 teams in the SEC getting beat !

 

Vanderbilt defeated number one Alabama 40 to 35 the first win over Alabama since 1984 and the first at Vanderbilt since 1976.

 

Missouri was defeated by Texas A&M a top 10 team as well.

Next Game Oct 12 TN will host FL Gators in Knoxville 7:00 kick off. The Florida Gators are 3-2 not ranked and defeated UCF 24-13 on Oct 5th.
